What do you think about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)?
In the Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful
During the centuries of the crusades, all sorts of slanders were invented against Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). But with the birth of the modern age, marked with religious tolerance and freedom of thought, there has been a great change in the approach of Western authors in their delineation of his life and character. The views of some non-Muslim scholars regarding Prophet Muhammad, given at the end, justify this opinion.
But the West has still to go a step forward to discover the greatest reality about Muhammad and that is his being the true and the last Prophet of God for the whole humanity. In spite of all its objectivity and enlightenment there has been no sincere and objective attempt by the West to understand the Prophethood of Muhammad (pbuh). It is so strange that very glowing tributes are paid to him for his integrity and achievement but his claim of being the Prophet of God has been rejected explicitly or implicitly. It is here that a searching of the heart is required, and a review of the so-called objectivity is needed. The following glaring facts from the life of Muhammad (pbuh) have been furnished to facilitate an unbiased, logical and objective decision regarding his Prophethood.

Up to the age of forty, Muhammad was not known as a statesman, a preacher or an orator. He was never seen discussing the principles of metaphysics, ethics, law, politics, economics or sociology. No doubt he possessed an excellent character, charming manners and was highly cultured. Yet there was nothing so deeply striking and so radically extraordinary in him that would make men expect something great and revolutionary from him in the future. But when he came out of the Cave (HIRA) with a new message, he was completely transformed. Is it possible for such a person of the above qualities to turn all of a sudden into ‘an impostor’ and claim to be the Prophet of Allah and invite all the rage of his people? One might ask: for what reason did he suffer all those hardships? His people offered to accept him as their King and he would leave the preaching of his religion. But he chose to refuse their tempting offers and go on preaching his religion single-handedly in face of all kinds of insults, social boycott and even physical assault by his own people. Was it not only God’s support and his firm will to disseminate the message of Allah and his deep-rooted belief that ultimately Islam would emerge as the only way of life for humanity, that he stood like a mountain in the face of all opposition and conspiracies to eliminate him? Furthermore, had he come with a design of rivalry with the Christians and the Jews, why should he have made belief in Jesus Christ and Moses and other Prophets of God (peace be upon them), a basic requirement of faith without which no one could be a Muslim?

Is it not an incontrovertible proof of his Prophethood that in spite of being unlettered and having led a very normal and quiet life for forty years, when he began preaching his message, all of Arabia stood in awe and wonder and was bewitched by his wonderful eloquence and oratory? It was so matchless that the whole legion of Arab poets, preachers and orators of the highest calibre failed to bring forth its equivalent. And above all, how could he then pronounce truths of a scientific nature contained in the Qur’an that no other human being could possible have developed at that time?

Last but not least, why did he lead a hard life even after gaining power and authority? Just ponder over the words he uttered while dying: "We the community of the Prophets are not inherited. Whatever we leave is for charity."

As a matter of fact, Muhammad (pbuh) is the last link of the chain of Prophets sent in different lands and times since the very beginning of the human life on this planet. Read the following writings of the Western authors:
If greatness of purpose, smallness of means, and astounding results are the three criteria of human genius, who could dare to compare any great man in modern history with Muhammad? The most famous men created arms, laws and empires only. They founded, if anything at all, no more than material powers which often crumbled away before their eyes. This man moved not only armies, legislations, empires, peoples and dynasties, but millions of men in one-third of the then inhabited world; and more than that, he moved the altars, the gods, the religions, the ideas, the beliefs and souls. . . his forbearance in victory, his ambition, which was entirely devoted to one idea and in no manner striving for an empire; his endless prayers, his mystic conversations with God, his death and his triumph after death; all these attest not to an imposture but to a firm conviction which gave him the power to restore a dogma
dogma. This dogma was twofold, the unity of God and the immateriality of God; the former telling what God is, the latter telling what God is not; the one overthrowing false gods with the sword, the other starting an idea with words.
"Philosopher, orator, apostle, legislator, warrior, conqueror of ideas, restorer of rational dogmas, of a cult without images; the founder of twenty terrestrial empires and of one spiritual empire, that is Muhammad. As regards all standards by which human greatness may be measured, we may well ask, is there any man greater than he?"
Lamartine, HISTOIRE DE LA TURQUIE, Paris, 1854, Vol. II, pp. 276-
It is not the propagation but the permanency of his religion that deserves our wonder, the same pure and perfect impression which he engraved at Mecca and Medina is preserved, after the revolutions of twelve centuries by the Indian, the African and the Turkish proselytes of the Koran. . . The Mahometans have uniformly withstood the temptation of reducing the object of their faith an devotion to a level with the senses and imagination of man. ‘I believe in One God and Mahomet the Apostle of God’ is the simple and invariable profession of Islam. The intellectual image of the Deity has never been degraded by any visible idol; the honours of the prophet have never transgressed the measure of human virtue, and his living precepts have restrained the gratitude of his disciples within the bounds of reason and religion."
Edward Gibbon and Simon Ocklay, HISTORY OF THE SARACEN EMPIRE, London, 1870, p. 54.

"He was Caesar and Pope in one; but he was Pope without Pope’s pretensions, Caesar without the legions of Caesar: without a standing army, without a bodyguard, without a palace, without a fixed revenue; if ever any man had the right to say that he ruled by the right divine, it was Mohammed, for he had all the power without its instruments and without its supports."
Bosworth Smith, MOHAMMAD AND MOHAMMADANISM, London, 1874, p. 92
It is impossible for anyone who studies the life and character of the great Prophet of Arabia, who knows how he taught and how he lived, to feel anything but reverence for that mighty Prophet, one of the great messengers of the Supreme. And although in what I put to you I shall say many things which may be familiar to many, yet I myself feel whenever I re-read them, a new way of admiration, a new sense of reverence for that mighty Arabian teacher."
Annie Besant, THE LIFE AND TEACHINGS OF MUHAMMAD, Madras,1932, p
His readiness to undergo persecutions for his beliefs, the high moral character of the men who believed in him and looked up to him as leader, and the greatness of his ultimate achievement – all argue his fundamental integrity. To suppose Muhammad an impostor raises more problems than it solves. Moreover, none of the great figures of history is so poorly appreciated in the West as Muhammad."
W. Montgomery Watt, MOHAMMAD AT MECCA, Oxford, 1953, p. 52
Muhammad, the inspired man who founded Islam, was born about A.D. 570 into an Arabian tribe that worshipped idols. Orphaned at birth, he was always particularly solicitous of the poor and needy, the widow and the orphan, the slave and the downtrodden. At twenty, he was already a successful businessman, and soon became director of camel caravans for a wealthy widow. When he reached twenty-five, his employer, recognizing his merit, proposed marriage. Even though she was fifteen years older, he married her, and as long as she lived, remained a devoted husband
Like almost every major prophet before him, Muhammad fought shy of serving as the transmitter of God’s word, sensing his own inadequacy. But the angel commanded "Read." So far as we know, Muhammad was unable to read or write, but he began to dictate those inspired words which would soon revolutionize a large segment of the earth: "There is one God."
In all things Muhammad was profoundly practical. When his beloved son Ibrahim died, an eclipse occurred, and rumours of God’s personal condolence quickly arose. Whereupon Muhammad is said to have announced, "An eclipse is a phenomenon of nature. It is foolish to attribute such things to the death or birth of a human being." "At Muhammad’s own death an attempt was made to deify him, but the man who was to become his administrative successor killed the hysteria with one of the noblest speeches in religious history: "If there are any among you who worshipped Muhammad, he is dead. But if it is God you worshipped, He lives forever."
James A. Michener, "ISLAM: THE MISUNDERSTOOD RELIGION," in READER’S DIGEST (American edition), May 1955, pp. 68-70
"My choice of Muhammad to lead the list of the world’s most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular level."
Michael H. Hart, THE 100: A RANKING OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSONS IN HISTORY, New York: Hart Publishing Company, Inc., 1978, p. 33.

ok Mohammed PBUHC (pubes be upon his chin)
Teri ma Di Phuddi Penchod | Jan 13, 2010

ok, where do i start, muhammad a misogynistic lazy man who lived on his rich Jewish wife’s money. an illiterate man who was high on hashish that he had someone else write his cherished koran, a vindictive murderous man preaching violence against the non believers. and above all a pedophile obsessed with little girls did i miss anything?
Amos C | Jan 13, 2010

The headline sounds like a question, but the details sound like you just want to throw an endless sermon at us. Anyway, I think that Muhammad was no prophet, because all prophecy is nonsense. Cheers.

SchizoWriter | Jan 13, 2010

I got tired of reading, but I think he wrote from his own thinking.
PBUH? what is that ?
You worship your leader and I will follow mine.

I follow Jesus, and he alone is the Messiah.
His body is not here because he rose from the dead, and proved he is God.
He is alive today and I know him.
Jesus is God that came down from heaven and lived among men.
Jesus was the only perfect man because he was also God.
Jesus didn’t just talk about knowing or hearing God, he was God.
He loves you too, and wants you to believe in him.

TAR w/ silencer and famas w/ red dot, the m16 is over rated i think the famas is better

1. ACR – Fully automatic, Great Accuracy, Great rate of fire, but not very powerful
2. M16 – 3 Round Burst, Good Accuracy, Very powerful

If you set these up for your two classes you’ll have the best of both worlds, one class with a fully automatic gun and one that’s extremely powerful.

Anybody know the law? Got in an accident and have a question? PLEASE?
I live in a trailer park, the park plows but they dont salt! If youve ever driven in michigan you know how it is. My entire park is a sheet of ice, and they do nothing about it. Yesturday i was driving out of the exit which is really very narrow, just enough room for 2 cars to drive through, i was on my side of the road and seen an oncoming car and i slammed on my breaks, afraid i was going to hit her, which i did hit her. It was so icey i slid right into her. I got an at fault accident and since it was private property they couldnt give me a ticket for driving to fast for conditions! The posted speed limit is 15, i was going around 15 miles an hr! The condition of the road was because it wasnt maintenanced, they hadnt plowed yet and no salt was on the ground. I feel this is my parks fault since they didnt salt and it had been snowing for most of the day, they knew of the condition of the road before hand. I wanted to find out if there was something i could do about this. My car has 1900.00 worth of damages, i have insurance and the deductible is 500.00 but if the roads were maintained like they shouhld be, this never would have happened. Nobody got hurt!
John: I didnt really think so, it just makes me soooo mad! Im not the first person to get in an accident right there, the people that live there get there house hit all the time! I wish they would just do something about it! Its BS and they know it! Its a pretty nice park so you wouldnt think it would be like this! Makes me angry, thanks for your input.

You are at fault and cannot do any thing to the trailer park about it. They made an effort, ever if it was a poor one to clean the roads so that covers their butts. I guess next time you’ll have to be more careful on ice….. if it makes you feel any better, most all of has been there before.

LT | Jan 27, 2010

The best person to ask would be your insurance agent. Honestly, i don’t think you have much of case against the park.
John Milton | Jan 27, 2010

you lost control of your car.sorry you are at fault.
richard r | Jan 27, 2010

15 is the ideal speed limit. If you were going too fast to stop you were speeding. It’s not the trailer parks’ fault, you were driving.
jakflak | Jan 27, 2010

The only shot I see you having is to check local and state law on this issue. If the trailer park owners are not required by law to plow AND salt the property then they are not breaking any laws by failing to plow and salt.

Now the local or state laws may require that right aways (roads, easements, bridges, etc) be properly maintained. Does that law include salting roads too?

All in all if the trailer park owners are complying with the law in regards to maintaining the right away then you are out of luck.

Ideas for who to write my biography about? It has to be someone that influenced the world in the 20th century.?
I need ideas for my 5 page essay. It has to be on someone who was famous in a good or bad way, that influenced the world in a good or bad way. It has to be in the 20th or earlier century. Hitler cant be a choice, as my teacher said its too easy and everybody would pick him. I want to write my essay about steam ships. Its a hobby of mine to learn about steam ships, so I would already know a bunch of stuff about them. I dont know why I like them so much, I guess its because of how massive and powerfull they were. Back in the early 20th century, ships like Titanic, Olympic, Britannic, etc…were considered magnificent works of art. So who would I write my report on? The creator of the steam ship?

i didnt read ur explanation but i think martin luther king was in the 20th century and he would be an easy person to write on and he definitaly influenced the world.
snackpack | Feb 04, 2010

You should write it about Tesla. No one ever knows who he is, even though he was the most awesome scientist ever. He did all sorts of crazy stuff you would probably find interesting.
Amber | Feb 04, 2010

Steamships were invented by Robert Fulton and the first sailed in the 19th century from Savannah, GA. You could write about him. Maybe you’d want to look up Cunard Line, the ship company that owned the Queen Mary and other famous ships, and write about the founder of the company (I have no idea who). ‘Those ships were involved in important events in the 20th century.

Why does the story of Jesus change in the later books of the New Testament?
In Mark, Jesus’ last words on the cross, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?". Mark is by the way the first book written after Jesus’ death. Why did his last words change in later books until he almost seems like he had everything planned and couldn’t wait?

Also, in Mark it mentions nothing about him being the Son of God, or born from a virgin. Is it possible that people had to change everything as they went along to fulfill the Old Testament "prophecies"?

He may have wanted to end it..Pain sucks. BUT HE WAS IN AGONY WHEN PRAYING and He was setting an example too of how to pray…dont get too busy nitpicking but think of salvation.

You should read Lee Strobels "The Case for Christ"

Im not exactly sure where his words change…

Bearing in mind that he asked his father to not have to go through the suffering, but that his will be done, im also not sure where it says he couldnt wait.

But Lee Strobel’s books really do a great job of defending what youve said, so if your interested, please check them out

They have different versions of what happened. In some books you hear all the parables with explanations, you get other voyages, more..material. you just have to READ it. Jesus was probably all about getting it over with, it was the whole reason He was here. Afterwards He got to be with God. Why would they change it? Just to make them feel better and decieve millions? I don’t think so.

You really have to try hard to find something wrong with the Bible don’t you? I mean you have to resort to focusing on one thing so you can take it out of context to find fault. Anyone can do that to anything. If I did that to evolution, you would cry out it wasn’t fair.

Different accounts of the same story. Each one written with the information that the author thought most important to include. Every news story doesn’t include every possible detail. That’s why we read so many on the same important event, to get all the facts. Peace.

The gospels are not histories. They are presentations of Jesus Christ. Each of them has a different target audience in mind and includes different details and organization to suit the author’s purpose. That’s why they aren’t identical. Indeed, if they were, what would be the point of having more than one?

peace

Neither Mark, nor Luke were among the original 12 Apostles. They came late on the scene. Last I studied, Mark was not the first account of the Gospel that was written. Each evangelist was moved to write for a specific purpose, and specific type of reader. Matthew wrote from a Jewish perspective. Mark was a facts & miracles-only, Luke writes to those who look for logical chronology, and John writes with a particularly youthful, relational viewpoint. Each is slightly different, but taken in total, you have a fuller picture of the Life and ministry of Jesus.

Mark is thought to have recorded his account as Peter taught it to him. The date of Mark’s Gospel is variously assigned to 57 to 63 AD.
Matthew’s Gospel, however, has a traditional date of 37 AD.

[Luke writes his Gospel and Acts as letters to a friend, between 63 and 68 AD. John's Gospel was written late in John's life, closer to 90 AD.]

i literally love this kid,no matter how hard i try to dislike him i just cant,i never want him outta my life, without him i feel incomplete and when im with any other guy it just doesnt feel right if its not my baby

hes very sweet when we are outside of school but during school hes like a diff person..he says that about me too but its kinda true,i lost my virginity to him with no regrets since i actually love him

hes just very protective, but hes almost never around me at school but he like watches me without me knowing sometimes…its weird and kinda creepy, hes been talking to me less and less and everytime we talk on the phone he seems like..blah y’know. i think WE are getting tired of each other but i know if we break up im going to miss him like crazy, last time we broke up he never left my mind but i was still doin my thang with guys…just being flirty with any guy who passes my way but yet again i never forgot about him

im known as a…flirt, tease, player in school so i sacraficed all of that for him and its killing me since i cant do anything wrong or ill feel guilty,im having a..strong urge to break the rules when hes not giving me the attention i want

i talked to him about..if we should stay together or not since we barely talk in school and he doesnt really call or text and we havnet hungout for a week now and he says he DOESNT want to breakup…iknow wtf…it feels like i dont even have a boyfriend and he told me that hes being a good boyfriend,i just started laughing
im almost always pissed at him for the past week (reasons are above) hes not even trying to make me happy,i just want him to change
we never hold hands, hug, kiss in school…well we did in the beginning but it still needs to happen cuz if im not gettin the lovin…he wont be gettin none of me for a while hahah
